“Some countries have already provided concrete figures on their capacity to host refugees. In Portugal, we still don't have that number fixed” said Patrícia Gaspar, the Secretary of State for Internal Administration.

According to the official, “in terms of support for migration, an exhaustive survey is being carried out on the different capacities, at the level of the partner entities, which in particular have already had a history of working with the country and which can provide important support, together with the municipal councils, which have a very important role here”.

“We don't have a ceiling yet. So far, everyone who has arrived is being welcomed and, therefore, we are now also going to start pushing this issue of defining specific numbers more, and what has always been our objective has been to try to welcome as many as possible, as long as there is interested in coming to our country”, explained Patrícia Gaspar.
