It starts weaker in the morning, intensifies during the afternoon and gradually extends from the coastal regions to the interior”, he added.

According to Jorge Ponte, on Friday, widespread rain is expected throughout the country, which can be heavy at times and accompanied by thunderstorms and snowfall above 1,100 meters in altitude.

“On Saturday we expect some showers that will decrease in frequency and intensity and on Sunday there should be rain, but less frequent,” he said.

As for the wind, the IPMA meteorologist said that on Tuesday the day was marked by a lot of wind and today it will continue, but it will weaken slightly.

As for temperatures, Jorge Ponte said that these have been falling in recent days and will remain relatively low on Friday, which will be the coldest day.

“Friday will be the coldest day with highs that can be below 10 degrees in the north and central interior and should not exceed 14/15 degrees in the Lisbon area. They can reach 16 and 17 degrees in the Algarve. Over the weekend they should start to rise slightly,” he stressed.

The meteorologist also added that minimum temperatures will also be low, reaching 0 degrees in the north and central interior and 10 degrees on the coast.
