The Ministry of the Environment is responsible for the management of almost three billion euros in the Recovery and Resilience Plan (PRR), highlighted the minister, who was speaking at the Assembly of the Republic, during the special examination of the proposal for the State Budget for 2022.

In an initial intervention in the debate on the budget for the environment area, Duarte Cordeiro recalled that the environment budget went from 2.7 billion euros in 2020 to 3.7 billion this year, “reinforcing the Government's commitment to climate change and transition”.

Among the Government's priorities in the area of ​​the environment, the minister highlighted the energy transition, the area of ​​transport and mobility, improving the state of heritage conservation, investing in forests and biodiversity and protecting water resources, reducing waste production and continuing the work already started in the area of ​​animal welfare.
