According to the Directorate-General for Health (DGS), all infections confirmed by the Instituto Nacional de Saúde Doutor Ricardo Jorge (INSA) are in men between the ages of 19 and 61, the majority being under 40 years old.
Most infections were reported in Lisbon and Vale do Tejo, but there are also cases in the North and Algarve regions, added the DGS, which also advances that the identified cases remain under clinical follow-up, and are stable.
The European Commission has purchased almost 110,000 doses of vaccines in response to the monkeypox outbreak in Europe which will begin to be distributed proportionally at the end of June in countries that have already authorised them.
