The period of isolation due to Covid-19 will go from seven to five days and the alert situation due to the pandemic will remain until the end of July, the Minister of the Presidency announced today.

“The Directorate-General for Health communicated to the Minister of Health the intention to pass the isolation period from seven to five days”, Mariana Vieira da Silva told journalists at the press conference held after the Council of Ministers.

The minister also advanced that the Government “has approved the resolution of the Council of Ministers that renews the declaration of the state of alert throughout the mainland within the scope of the Covid-19 disease pandemic until the end of July”.

According to the minister, in the coming days there will be news, regarding maintaining the rules for the use of masks in certain situations, such as on public transport.

Mariana Vieira da Silva also added that the digital certificate will no longer be required to enter the country, however official guidelines have yet to be updated.
