On 7 July, Sonae will hold a special recruitment day in the Algarve targeted at war refugees. The initiative, which will take place at Continente of Guia, between 10am and 6pm, aims to speed up the professional integration of Ukrainian refugees in Portugal, who are looking for job opportunities.

According to a statement sent to The Portugal News: “The recruitment process focuses on the professional skills and knowledge of candidates, in order to match their profile to job opportunities in the Sonae Group”.

Last month similar initiatives were held in Lisbon and Vila Nova de Gaia, with around 400 candidates taking part. Sonae currently has around 900 job opportunities open throughout the country, of which around 100 are in the Algarve aimed at Ukrainian refugees.

“This initiative is part of Sonae For Ukraine scheme that takes advantage of Sonae's resources and know-how to support those most affected by the conflict in Ukraine, through three main areas of action: Arrival, Welcome and Employment”, they added.

The initiative relies on the collaboration of dozens of employees from the group's several companies to make it possible.

To participate in the recruitment day, those interested should register on the bilingual website created for this purpose at https://bit.ly/3lP2fqs.
