The number of registered passengers is about 12 percent from reaching the values in the same period in 2019, that is, pre-pandemic.

Lisbon airport handled almost half of the passengers who arrived and left Portugal, a total of 12.1 million people. This translates into an increase of 380.4 percent over the same period last year.

Further north, at Porto airport, 5.52 million people moved, but it was Faro airport that registered the greatest growth, 503.2 percent, with the movement of 3.46 million passengers.

Around 80 percent of passengers who disembarked in Portugal during June 2022 were travelling on commercial flights from abroad, an increase of 70 percent compared to the same period last year.

As for flights departing from Portugal, more than 80 percent landed in European countries. The value has increased by 10 percentage values compared to June 2021.

According to the INE, the values quickly approach the data recorded in the years before the pandemic and all restrictions to contain Covid-19.

During June 2022, according to the INE, an average of more than 95,000 passengers circulated per day at Portuguese airports, value close to June 2019, when there were around 98,000 passengers per day circulating at national airports.
