The number of Portuguese without a family doctor has always been above one million since the beginning of the year. And since the biggest competition of the year for the hiring of new specialists has already taken place, it is not expected that this number will decrease in the short term.

Lisbon and Vale do Tejo continues to be the most dramatic case: 23.3% of the total registered do not have a family doctor assigned. Next comes the Algarve, where the percentage of users without a clinician is 15%, followed by the Alentejo with 12.7%. Doing better are the Center regions, with 7.9%, and North, with 2%.
