The premiere starts at 9:30 pm with the “Concerto de Guitarra Portuguesa e Orquestra”, with the participation of Paulo Soares and the Braga Philharmonic Orchestra, as announced by the Coimbra City Council.

On 1 October, World Music Day is celebrated, so two musical options can be enjoyed by those who want to visit the Convent of São Francisco. At 7 pm, visitors may hear “A Guitarra com os Dedos em Garra!”, an original by Simão Mota, which will take place at Café Concerto Coimbra, also in the spaces of the Convento de São Francisco. Later, at 10 pm, at Praça do Comércio, Coimbra and the Azores will join in the sound of the “Serenata Patrimónios – (En)Canto à Ilhas de Bruma”.

On 2 October, around 6 pm, “Coimbra das Canções” is heard, joining the “Quint’Essence Essemble and the Choir of the University of Coimbra”. At that moment, the students will share the stage with a choir made up of 60 children “from various schools of artistic and specialized music education in the central region”. The following day it is possible to watch the musical “Olá Mundo, aqui Coimbra”, at 7 pm, in the Sala D. Afonso Henriques.

On the 4 of October, those present will return to the past, more specifically to the 60s and 70s, with the show “O Rapaz do Bairro”, which starts at 9:30 pm. During the concert, Coimbra fado will be heard, which has taken root in Portuguese culture, “either through the expressions of traditional music or the texts of great Portuguese poets”. On 5 October, people may attend the conference “Encontros com a Obra de Luiz Goes”, at 3:30 pm, followed by a concert by “Luiz Goes em piano de fundo”, at 7:00 pm.

“Arrancado ao Esquecimento” is the proposal for 6 October by the hand of MUS.MUS.CBR – Associação Cultural Museu da Música de Coimbra, which will present a documentary in “absolute premiere”, as well as an exhibition present throughout the festival. On 7 October, it is possible to see the show “De Chopin à Lapa”, in the D. Afonso Henriques room, at 9:30 pm.

Figures from the music world of Coimbrã will be honoured, as is the case of Adriano Correia de Oliveira, who will have the 8 of October dedicated to himself and his “80 years of birth”. On that day, the program will focus on his work, starting with the gathering “Encontro com Adriano Correia de Oliveira” at 3:30 pm. The Tuna Académica of the University of Coimbra will also pay tribute in the show “As Flores de Abril”. Other performers and groups will also pay tribute to the artist, singing songs by Adriano Correia de Oliveira.

On the last day, Luísa Sobral and Hugo Gamboias take the stage for the “Concerto para bebés”, with greater dedication to the guitar. The closing of the festival will also be marked with theatre. Cooperativa Bonifrates will present “O Assobiador de Caminhos – Adriano and his Poets”, in a play that will accompany the journey of Adriano Correia de Oliveira.
