Between September and October, Coimbra led the rise, with houses becoming more expensive by 4.8%. In Lisbon, house prices rose by 1.6% and in Porto by 1.3% during the same period.
“In relation to the quarterly and annual variation, house prices in Portugal rose by 1.3% and 5.1%, respectively”, according to a report by Casa ao Minuto.
Idealista points out that house prices in October rose in 17 district capitals, with Coimbra (4.8%), Santarém (4.1%) and Beja (3.9%) leading the list.
Followed by Guarda (3%), Ponta Delgada (2.7%), Setúbal (2.6%), Faro (2.1%), Lisbon (1.6%), Leiria (1.6%), Portalegre (1.3%), Porto (1.3%), Évora (1.2%), Funchal (1.2%), Viseu (1.1%), Castelo Branco (1.1%), Aveiro (1%) and Bragança (0.3%).
In Braga and Viana do Castelo, prices remained stable during the month of October.
Prices only dropped in Vila Real (-0.2%).
Lisbon continues to be the city where it is most expensive to buy a house: 5,084 euros/m2. Porto (3,173 euros/m2) and Funchal (2,583 euros/m2) occupy the second and third places, respectively.
