She has two amazing daughters, Mariana, who is a 17 years old cancer survivor, and Tamara who is 15 years old and has definitely inherited her mom’s rebellious side!

Kristina is known for being an incredible woman, she is always there for friends and family, would do anything for anyone and has touched the lives of everyone who has ever met her.

In February of this year, Kristina suffered an Ischemic stroke on her left side, she had to be helicoptered from Portimão to Lisbon for emergency surgery to remove a blockage. Later on she underwent a decompressive craniotomy to relieve pressure on the brain. All of this was totally unexpected and truly shocking for all of her family, however Kristina showed her strength and survived.

For about a week Kris was hospitalized in Lisbon until doctors could remove the ventilator she was on and she regained some level of consciousness. Her entire family; parents, daughter and sisters, stayed with her the entire time.

However, as a result of the injury to her brain, the right side of her body has been left paralysed and she cannot speak.

On 23 February she was transferred back down to Portimão in the Algarve, where more tests are being done and will continue, alongside some physical and speech therapy.

Kristina’s family are fully aware that this will be a very long recovery process and have been contacted by so many wonderful people that adore her and want to help however possible.

Because of this, we have decided to create a Go Fund Me, to raise much needed financial help to get her all the extra treatment that will give her the best chance at recovery, help her daughters and for future treatment and tools she will need to adapt to her new condition.

We know that Kris is a fighter and that she is loved by so many people. If you would like to help by making a donation, no matter what size at all, it will help to ensure that Kris and her daughters have the brightest future possible.

Your generosity is massively appreciated in helping us to reach our goal. Thank you all.
