The new deadline now imposed by the Socialist Executive takes place "following a request from the National Association of Portuguese Municipalities (ANMP)".

"This part of the legislation (PL 64/XXIII/2023; PL 73/XXIII/2023; PL 74/XXIII/2023) will therefore be in public consultation until March 24, after which it will be approved at the Council of Ministers on March 30, after which will go to the Assembly of the Republic", explains the Government in a statement.

The remaining diplomas - referring to housing credit support and rents - end public consultation on March 13, as already planned, and will be approved at the Council of Ministers on March 16. In this way, says the Executive, "it ensures that support for families reaches the ground quickly".
