17-year-old teenage Érica, who disappeared on Saturday while on a paddle board in the Algarve, was successfully rescued by the Air Force yesterday (16 April).

Today (17 April) the Air Force have shared the moment when Érica was taken from the MSC REFF ship who initially found her, and into an aircraft from the Portuguese Air Force.
"The young woman was recovered safely by Squadron 751 — 'Pumas', 37 kilometres from the Algarve coast and 56 kilometres from Faro", said the Air Force in a statement, adding that, "when on board the aircraft, the military aeronautical nurse on board monitored her vital signs and provided health care".
