According to BRANDS 'Local Online on Sapo news, more than six million will be allocated solutions, mostly electrical, to support the activity of cleaning public space, namely scanning equipment, which will provide this area with greater efficiency.

With regards to waste collection, the amount exceeds three million euros for the modernisation of the fleet, replacing the older ones with means that make it possible to optimise the service provided to citizens and, at the same time, to privilege more sustainable solutions, with vehicles powered by natural gas.

These investments represent a strong commitment to improving the quality of life of Porto residents and follows the commitment of the Municipality of Porto in these areas, through a consistent and continuous investment in recent years and that has allowed to achieve historical results in recycling and urban cleaning and recognition by the main entities of the sector.

These initiatives, welcomed by consensus by all political forces, are part of the decarbonisation strategy of Porto Ambiente's activity, in line with the objectives of carbon neutrality, recommended by the Porto Climate Pact. The initiative, publicly launched in September 2022, already brings together more than 300 subscribers, including elements of civil society, organizations, companies and institutions united in favour of carbon neutrality in the city by 2030.
