"Some objects were collected as part of the operation. They will be evaluated in the coming days and weeks," explained the prosecutor's office, and reported by Sky News.

The authorities underlined, however, that "it is not yet possible to say" whether some of these objects are related to the investigation in question.

This is the most recent update given by Germany, which participated in the searches that took place last week, for three days, at the Arade Dam, in the municipality of Silves, district of Faro.

The new searches were requested by the BKA, a special German investigation unit, and coordinated together with the Judiciary Police (PJ). The British authorities also participated in the operation.

Right after the operation, which took place between May 23 and 25, the PJ immediately stated that the collected material would be handed over to the German authorities "in accordance with the rules of international judicial cooperation".
