“At the beginning of this week, until the 13th of June, relatively rainy weather with periods of cloudiness are still expected”, states the IPMA on social media.

But as of Wednesday, June 14, the IPMA stressed that the intensification “of an anticyclone, between the Azores and Madeira will induce a flow from the north or even east quadrant, carrying warmer, drier air masses.”

This weather front will see lower than normal levels of precipitation while “the average temperature will remain above normal, especially from June 14, in large part of the mainland”.

According to the IPMA, the maximum temperatures will be between 16 and 36°C throughout the week, estimating “higher values in the Tagus valley region, in the Alentejo, in the eastern Algarve and even occasionally in Serra da Estrela and the Douro Valley”.

The minimum temperature, on the other hand, will vary between 9 and 20°C, with values between 18 and 20°C expected in the coastal regions and in the Center and Southern interior.
