“It is true that the [SEF] inspectors will become part of the Judiciary Police, but the international airport operation will be with the PSP and so far there is total confusion”, said André Ventura, reinforcing that "the Minister of Internal Administration has to give an answer on this".

The leader of Chega was speaking to journalists after a meeting with the commander of the PSP in Madeira, Luís Simões, in Funchal, as part of a three-day visit to the region.

André Ventura classified the process of extinguishing SEF as “chaos”, noting that its powers formally pass to other entities as of November 1st, namely to the PSP, which will be responsible for international airport control.
