The Association for Protection of Animals Algarve’s President, Jenny Clarke, had already arranged a slot for ‘Flow’ with João Animal Rescue Algarve’s General Manager. For both charitable, animal, associations a happy ending. Thankfully there are shelters who are able to help our canine and feline friends. The problem however, does not go away. “Cat-colonies are increasing.” Jenny has Zelia Santos and her friends, looking after the population problem. SNiP is probably the only way forward. Spaying and Neutering animals at the earliest possible moment is the only answer. APAA’s ‘Pop-Up’ Shops and events, together with their two charity shops, in Alvor and Silves, do help to raise not only money, but awareness. “Believing that certain ‘pedigree’ animals are almost sacred. Should be kept intact. Or even, that some breeds are too difficult to be operated on.” Stuff legends are made of. APAA’s team, whilst sympathetic, do try and educate at the same time. One couple believed that a brother and sister, from the same litter, would never, ever mate together. Woops. The eight darling puppies had to be found a home. Eventually realising their mistake, both animals received the SNiP!
