"The main aim of the i-Danha Food Lab is to bring together all those involved in the agri-food sector - companies, start-ups, researchers, farmers, consumers and others - to provide a unique networking and knowledge-sharing experience," said the municipality of Idanha-a-Nova, in the Castelo Branco district.
This annual event is jointly organised by Building Global Innovators (BGI), the Food4Sustainability CoLAB Collaborative Laboratory, EIT Food and Idanha-a-Nova Town Hall.
Over three days, participants will have access to interactive sessions and talks, guided tours, and networking opportunities with international experts.
"Of particular note is the presentation of funding opportunities linked to the only European Digital Innovation Hub dedicated exclusively to the sector and the TestBeds programme, instruments totalling 7.6 million euros for small and medium-sized businesses."
And taking advantage of the last day of the world technology conference 'Web Summit', the organisation has planned for the 6th edition of the event the "green innovation train", which will leave Lisbon for a trip along the Tagus River to take participants to the historic village of Monsanto, for the "i-Danha Food Lab".
According to the municipality, during the three-day event, participants "have the opportunity to gain experience about innovative approaches to promoting changes in food systems, while enjoying local products and the region's rich gastronomy".
"It's the ideal environment to highlight and celebrate innovation and the work done to drive the transition of food systems towards more sustainable chains, fostering economic and social development and protecting our planet," stated the municipality of Idanha-a-Nova.
