Roads in the central massif of the Serra da Estrela are closed to traffic due to snowfall, a Civil Protection source told the Lusa agency.

According to the Sub-Regional Emergency and Civil Protection Command of Beiras and Serra da Estrela, based in Guarda, the snow that fell during the night and early morning forced the closure of three road sections.
At 06:00, car traffic was banned on sections 11 (Piornos - Torre), 12 (Torre - Torre) and 13 (Torre - Lagoa Comprida), according to Civil Protection.
