The news coincides with Connacht's declaration that work on their high-performance complex will start in March and that the north stand development will start at the end of the current campaign.

The current Clan Terrace will be replaced by the new north stand, which will be built during the 2025–2026 season. The old Clan Terrace is scheduled to be destroyed this summer.

Dexcom Stadium will have a smaller capacity for the 2024–2025 season due to construction.

“We are thrilled to share today's two pieces of significant news for Connacht Rugby,” stated Willie Ruane, chief executive of Connacht.

“First and foremost, naming rights support is vital to realising our goal of transforming Sportsground into a functional, contemporary stadium, and we have found the ideal partners in Dexcom to assist us in realising that goal.”

“Secondly, we are happy to inform all of our devoted followers of the upcoming phases of our stadium renovation. and we are now prepared to move on with the next phases in constructing the new Dexcom Stadium after much effort behind the scenes.”

The US business Dexcom, which makes diabetes monitoring devices, is planning to start construction on a sizable new manufacturing plant in Athenry.
