In a statement, the Alentejo Regional Wine Commission (CVRA) revealed that it will be present at the event, with the region represented this year by 21 producers and 160 wines in the tasting.
“This year, Alentejo will be at the forefront of this event”, highlighted the CVRA, highlighting that, for the first time, the Alentejo Regional Tourism Promotion Agency (ARPTA) will also participate in the initiative.
An 'alliance' so that, “in addition to the wines, the excellence of wine tourism in the region is also highlighted”, said the wine commission.
As far as CVRA is concerned, recalled the commission's president, Francisco Mateus, this will be the 16th year of participation in ProWein.
The fair, considered "the largest in the world" in this area, is “always an added value to showcase in an international showcase the best that is produced in Portugal in the wine sector”.
“Always bearing in mind that both producers and other ‘stakeholders’ are present at these events, our objective is to reinforce the region’s notoriety, both in terms of the excellence of our wines and the offer of wine tourism”, reinforced Francisco Mateus.
In 2023, the event had 6,000 exhibitors, from 60 countries, and received 49,000 visitors, from 141 different nationalities.
A fellow alentejano friend of mine told me the commission would take more producers but they were restricted by the 42 seats of the bus that will bring back the 21 producers after the 160 wines tasting.

21 wine producers.
It would not take much effort to list them would it?
