Sharlene Mawdsley and Sophie Becker, who participated in the women's 4x400-meter relay that won a silver medal yesterday night, were among them.
With a new Irish record time of 3:22.71, the relay team consisting of Becker, Mawdsley, Phil Healy, and Rhasidat Adeleke came in second in the race.
The team, who took home two gold and two silver medals from the championship in Rome, was met by family members and supporters at Dublin Airport.

The Irish 4x400-meter silver medalist Phil Healy's older sister praised the team's performance from yesterday night's race in Rome, stating that it “hasn't been an overnight success.”
Joan Healy remarked that “competing in these events was far easier for her because watching them put her on nerves all day.”
“I felt like I was on the edge of my seat,” Healy remarked.
