The proposal was approved with votes against by the PSD and CDS-PP and abstention by IL, in the votes on the State Budget for 2025.

Although the legal framework in force is clear regarding the obligation to assess the environmental impact of the new Lisbon airport (Luís de Camões Airport) and "until there is a public commitment from the Ministry of Infrastructure and Housing, we understand that in the name of legal security and to avoid resorting to legal maneuvers that aim to circumvent legal obligations, it will be important to enshrine this additional binding instrument in the Budget", argues the PAN in the proposal now approved.

According to this proposed amendment, the Government "promotes the carrying out of an environmental impact assessment of the Luís de Camões Airport project, located at Campo de Tiro de Alcochete in accordance with Resolution of the Council of Ministers no. 66/2024, of 27 of May, and the project to reinforce the capacity of Humberto Delgado Airport provided for in Resolution of the Council of Ministers no. 67/2024, of May 27th".
