According to provisional data provided by the Association of Hotels and Tourist Enterprises of the Algarve (AHETA), the occupancy rate of Algarve accommodation units was 3.6 percentage points higher in November compared to the same month of the previous year, rising from 39.8 % in 2023 to 43.3% this year.

It is worth noting that the occupancy percentage last month is identical to that seen in the same month in 2019 (43.8%), the last year before the Covid-19 pandemic, which preceded the 12.0% in 2020.

According to the monthly summary of the evolution of the hotel industry prepared by AHETA, the markets that recorded the highest annual growth were the British (plus 7.4%), the Spanish plus 40% and the German plus 11%.

The national market registered an annual increase of 6.7%, according to figures from that association.

On the other hand, the average stay was four nights, a similar value to that recorded in the same month of the previous year.

The longest average stays were those in the Swedish market, with 9.5 nights, and the Dutch market, with 7.4.
