Contacted by Lusa, Ryanair spokesperson Jade Kirwan confirmed that there was a bomb threat on a flight that left Faro at 7:26 am and landed at 10:52 am local time [9:52 am in Lisbon] at Charleroi airport and stated that “it was a false alarm”.

The remaining flights to Charleroi were diverted while authorities investigated whether there was a bomb on board the aircraft, but “the passengers have now disembarked and the plane is preparing to return” to Faro, the spokeswoman added.

Ryanair told The Portugal News: "Ryanair was informed of a security threat on flight FR6313 from Faro to Brussels Charleroi today, 13th May. The aircraft landed normally at Charleroi as planned. Passengers have been disembarked and the aircraft is being prepared for return to service. We sincerely apologise to any passengers affected."
