The Portuguese News is always trumpeting tht Portugal welcomes foreign visitors particularly from UK. I am a regular visitor to the Algarve. I returned to London last night to face over 250 people queuing up at Passport control. I took one hour and 12 minutes to get through. As I left the queue was even longer.
There were only 3 gates open. As I climbed the stairs to boarding I saw an even longer queue for visitors arriving. This is ridiculous. The airport alone must be losing millions as no one has time to shop or buy food and drink. the authorities know exactly how many passengers are arriving. OPEN MORE GATES, it is that simple
