The cancellation of the tour was announced by Caleb Followill, in a video shared on the band's official social media account. The lead singer and guitarist of Kings of Leon says he broke his foot and, as a result, will have to remain in the United States.

The band was supposed to perform in Portugal on July 12, on the last day of the NOS Alive festival, where they would headline along with the American band Nine Inch Nails.

The promoter Everything is New, which organises the festival, announced the cancellation “with sadness”, in a statement shared on social media, saying they were “working to secure a new confirmation”, which should be announced “very soon”.

“All information regarding tickets will be announced very soon on www.nosalive.com and on our official channels,” the statement says.

The 17th NOS Alive will take place on July 10, 11 and 12 at Passeio Marítimo de Algés, in Oeiras.

On the last day, in addition to Nine Inch Nails, Future Islands, Foster The People, Bright Eyes, Jet and A-Trak, among others, will also perform.

Tickets for the first day, which will feature American Olivia Rodrigo as the main attraction, are already sold out.

The lineup for that day also includes Benson Boone, Parov Stelar, Nathy Peluso and Glass Animals, among others.

On July 11, the headliner will be American DJ Anima. Also confirmed are performances by Justice, Girl in Red, Finneas, St. Vincent and the Black Panther.

Daily tickets, which are only available for July 10 and 11, cost 84 euros.

Three-day passes are sold out, with two-day passes – for July 11 and 12 – costing €168. Two-day passes for July 10 and 11 and July 10 and 12 are also sold out.
