This expansion reflects not only the growth of the sector but also the diversification of areas of operation, which currently encompass healthcare, home, fashion, education, hospitality, food, construction, communications, entertainment, cleaning, and accounting.
This dynamism will be on show at the next edition of Expofranchise, taking place on October 17 and 18 at Pátio da Galé in Lisbon, with the participation of eight new brands from Brazil. For the first time, the event will feature the Brazil Pavilion, a space entirely dedicated to Brazilian brands undergoing international expansion. The initiative is the result of a partnership between the APF, the Brazilian Franchising Association (ABF), and ApexBrasil. Expofranchise 2025 offers free admission upon registration.
"The increase in the number of Brazilian franchisees in Portugal is a natural reflection of the maturity of Brazilian franchising and the affinity between the two markets. Portugal is a strategic destination for the internationalization of brands, due to its language, economic stability, and the receptiveness of Portuguese consumers to new concepts, in addition to representing a lever for the European market," says Cristina Matos, secretary general of the Portuguese Franchising Association.
