The street has been closed from south to north, according to Civil Protection.

According to a source from the Lisbon Sub-Regional Emergency and Civil Protection Command, the incident was reported around 10:15 a.m., and authorities were alerted to "damage to the gas supply network on the street."

The same source said that, at 11:20 a.m., the leak "was still active."

Firefighters established a security perimeter, given that there are commercial spaces and a daycare center nearby, and also evacuated a shopping mall where about 20 people were. Construction work is also underway in the area, though the source did not specify.

Firefighters from Algés, Carnaxide, and Dafundo, as well as the PSP (Public Police), Lisboa Gás, and the Oeiras Municipal Civil Protection Service, in the Lisbon district, are also on site.
