"This partnership arises from FEUC's curricular requirement, which stipulates that all students must have a minimum level of English of B2 (according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages) as a mandatory requirement for course completion," the faculty began in a statement.
At the end of the three-year degree in Economics and Management, students must demonstrate that they have acquired the necessary skills. If they fail to reach the required level, students will have access to English classes taught by British Council-certified teachers.
For José Manuel Mendes, director of FEUC, "the cooperation between the British Council and the Faculty of Economics is highly relevant for undergraduate programs in Business Administration and Economics, as it significantly increases students' employability, academic performance, and international outlook, providing them with practical, high-level language skills tailored to their professional future."
Richard Fleming, director of the British Council in Portugal, adds that this partnership "reinforces our commitment to quality education, which values not only technical knowledge but also linguistic and intercultural skills, which are essential for success."
