We searched online for English-speaking churches in Portugal that shared our fundamental beliefs. We found Tavira Christian Centre International (TCCI) through its website. We visited it every Sunday during an extended visit to Tavira and Vila Real de Santo António.

We were welcomed warmly and were blessed by the worship, the weekly celebration of the Lord’s table, and Biblical preaching. On the last Sunday of that extended trip, the members gathered around us and prayed that the Lord would give us wisdom in our decision whether to move to Portugal and where to live if we did move.

We revisited the area and the church several times over the next year before moving to Vila Real de Santo António in January 2025. Now we are active members, participating in Sunday Services, a Men’s Group, and Women’s social activities. We also host a small group.

There are many reasons that we picked the southeast Algarve for our new adventure. Our new church family has been instrumental in making it our new home.
