Originally released by London-based publisher Thames & Hudson, the book will be published in Portugal by Marcador and is presented as “the definitive visual history of Iron Maiden”. It contains over 600 colour illustrations, including photographs by Ross Halfin and John McMurtrie, iconic album covers, stage props, handwritten lyrics, and rare items from the band’s official archive and personal collections.
Described by the publisher as a visual and biographical reference work, the volume incorporates a foreword by Steve Harris, Iron Maiden’s founder and bassist, and an afterword by lead singer Bruce Dickinson, reflecting on the band’s longevity and cultural impact.
“This journey has been a real trip down memory lane for me – and I hope it will be just as fascinating for you”, Steve Harris writes, adding, “It’s amazing when people tell me that the band helped them through difficult times, changed their lives, or even saved their lives.”
For Bruce Dickinson, “it’s the power of imagination that endures”, and it’s the stories of the British band that “will live on for generations to come”.
Encompassing 352 pages and a commemorative hardcover edition, “Infinite Dreams – Iron Maiden” brings together rare and unseen images as well as behind-the-scenes stories spanning five decades of their career – from their early gigs in London pubs to the world tours that cemented their status as one of the most influential names in heavy metal.
According to Thames & Hudson, the book was created with direct involvement of the band members and their management team, along with artists and collaborators from different areas, resulting in a “meticulously compiled visual chronicle” aimed at both long-time fans and new followers.
“Infinite Dreams” was released worldwide on October 7 and now reaches Portugal, with publishing rights already sold in several countries.
