According to the company, the data represents a 12% increase compared to the same period last year, when 17.1 million users were transported.

In a statement, Carris Metropolitana also revealed that, between January and October of this year, there was also overall growth in demand compared to 2024.

“Between January 1st and October 31st, more than 162 million passengers were transported, compared to 144 million achieved in the same period last year, representing an increase of more than 13%,” it added.

The month of October was also marked by the highest number of passengers transported in a single day, with more than 763,000 people travelling on Carris Metropolitana on the 15th.

Carris Metropolitana is a brand created for intercity buses in the Lisbon region, under the coordination of the company Transportes Metropolitanos de Lisboa, a public management entity dependent on the AML (Lisbon Metropolitan Area).
