The announcement was made by the company itself through a post shared on the social network X:

"Today, December 3rd, from 1:15 PM to 3:45 PM, there may be disruptions to train services due to a plenary meeting of Lisbon Metro workers," reads the post shared by the transport company.

In a statement published on the website of the Federation of Transport and Communications Unions (FECTRANS), it reads that "the unions continue to discuss with the workers the demands and mobilization for the general strike," which is scheduled for December 11th.

FECTRANS also highlights this Metro plenary meeting, which will take place at 2 PM and will be attended by the Secretary-General of the CGTP-IN, according to the same information shared.

The Lisbon Metro, it should be noted, operates daily with four lines: Yellow (Rato-Odivelas), Green (Telheiras-Cais do Sodré), Blue (Reboleira-Santa Apolónia) and Red (Airport-São Sebastião). Normally, the Lisbon Metro operates between 6:30 am and 1:00 am.

Lisbon Metro and unions have already signed a new Company Agreement

A month ago, it should be recalled, the Lisbon Metro and unions signed a new Company Agreement that guarantees an increase in the meal allowance and shorter hours underground, a union source announced at the time.

In a statement, the Federation of Transport and Communications Unions (FECTRANS) indicated that the parties reached an agreement on "important matters".

The statement cites as an example "the 37h30 maximum working time, guaranteeing shorter hours underground, as well as an increase in the meal allowance to 12 euros from November and from 11 euros until then".

Following the signing, the Company Agreement (AE), which had been approved in plenary session on September 24th, will be published and will be in effect until December 31st, 2030.

"We are closing this chapter of negotiations for the 2025 AE I, with effective gains for all workers, without the withdrawal of any rights," indicated FECTRANS in the statement.

Lisbon Metro workers have held several plenary sessions and strikes in recent months due to a lack of agreement with the company's management regarding the Company Agreement.
