E-REDES will proceed with new scheduled maintenance work on the electricity grid on Sunday, December 7, which will require temporary power cuts in several areas of the country.

According to the company, the interventions are carried out under the terms of articles 72 and 75 of the Regulation of Commercial Relations of the Electricity and Gas Sector and are part of the preventive maintenance plan aimed at ensuring greater safety and reliability of the network.

According to the official publication from E-REDES, the power cuts will be localised, but may extend between 5 and 12 hours, depending on the parish. The company explains that these actions are concentrated on Sundays to reduce the impact on residential and commercial consumption, ensuring that the service maintains stability in the medium term.

According to E-REDES, these interventions are part of the annual preventive maintenance plan, which includes component replacement, technical inspections, and equipment reinforcement. The company says that, even if the supply is restored sooner, all installations should be treated as being permanently energised for safety reasons.
