In a statement, the Ministry of Environment and Energy says that the requirement that the vehicle purchased be new is maintained, as well as the requirement to "scrap a fossil fuel car that is more than 10 years old".
According to the notice published on the Environmental Fund's website, applications can be submitted from the 29th of this month until February 12, 2026, "or until the available allocation is exhausted".
Light electric passenger vehicles can receive between four thousand and five thousand euros, depending on the type of beneficiary; bicycles between 500 and 1,500 euros, and chargers for electric vehicle batteries are also eligible.
Included in the Green Mobility package, the measure "aims to support the decarbonisation of the transport sector, responsible for the majority of carbon emissions in Portugal," as well as "improve the quality of the environment and encourage the use of more sustainable modes of mobility," indicates the ministry.
"We are committed to reducing emissions in the transport sector and everyone has a responsibility to make the best choices. The government is responsible for encouraging decarbonisation, helping people anticipate the green transition," said the Minister of Environment and Energy, Maria da Graça Carvalho, quoted in the statement.

Please expand this program, both on application dates and the amount of fund available to allocate.
