The forecast of heavy rain and hail has led the Portuguese Institute of the Sea and the Atmosphere (IPMA) to place the Algarve and Lower Alentejo under a yellow warning for Saturday, December 27.

The warning is valid between 6am and 1pm this Saturday.
The reason is the forecast of "precipitation, which may be heavy at times, with hail and accompanied by thunderstorms".
The next few days will also be marked by cold weather in the southernmost regions of mainland Portugal, with a minimum of 3 degrees Celsius in the Beja district (maximum of 11) and temperatures ranging between 7 and 13 degrees in the Faro district this Saturday.
