The announcement comes as the city prepares for the 39th housing allocation lottery, scheduled for mid-January, in a continued effort to strengthen the supply of affordable housing.

The Municipality clarifies, in a note on its official website, that applications are only temporarily suspended during the property selection and lottery stages.

Currently, preparations are underway for the next lottery, promoted by Porto Vivo, SRU, and it is expected that soon, candidates with validated applications will be invited to choose the houses that best match their preferences before the lottery takes place. After the analysis of the applications is completed, the final list of admitted candidates will be released and broadcast live on the Porto Municipality's YouTube channel, according to the statement. This model has been followed in previous editions, ensuring transparency throughout the housing allocation process.

The City Council reminds that, within the scope of the municipal program "Porto com Sentido" (Porto with Meaning), 405 apartments have already been made available with rents at least 20% lower than those practiced in the open market, with an average rent of 471 euros.
