Visitors will journey to the Middle Ages, between the 5th and 15th centuries, with the village's narrow streets transformed into a true festival of smells and flavours, featuring typical delicacies, traditional arts and crafts, and performances alluding to the medieval era.

Dance, music, historical re-enactments, arts and crafts, traditional snacks, and equestrian tournaments enliven the festivities daily.

Integrated into the New Year's Eve program of the municipality of Albufeira, the event guarantees a unique cultural experience, full of fun and designed for the whole family.

Medieval Paderne begins on New Year's Day with the opening of the market and the procession of troubadours, announcing the visit of King D. Dinis.

The highlight of the first day is the Royal Procession through the streets of the town and the presentation, by D. Dinis, of the Charter of Donation of Paderne Castle to the Order of Avis, scheduled for 3 pm.

Throughout the four days, residents and tourists will also be able to enjoy a varied program that recreates the habits and customs of the Middle Ages, including dances and festivities, slave auctions, equestrian tournaments, fire shows, and fencing duels.

Amidst the hustle and bustle of the fair and the aroma of snacks served in traditional taverns, the entertainment is constant, with medieval characters, music, dance, jugglers, farces, and stories that bring the village to life.

This year, admission is free, and the event takes place daily from 12 pm to 11 pm, except on the last day, January 4th, which ends at 9 pm.
