Portugal is “monitoring the situation in Venezuela minute by minute,” a government source told Lusa, following several explosions in Caracas, which denounced a “very serious military aggression.”

According to the same source, Portuguese authorities are in contact with the embassy in Caracas and with several European governments.
Venezuela hosts one of the largest Portuguese communities in the diaspora, being the second largest in Latin America, after Brazil.
Strong explosions, attributed to the United States, hit the Venezuelan capital today at around 2:00 AM local time.
