“Ruben Amorim has left his position as manager of Manchester United. [...] With Manchester United in sixth place in the Premier League, the club's leadership reluctantly made the decision that it was the right time to make a change. This will give the team the best opportunity to finish as high as possible in the Premier League,” a statement said.
Amorim, 40, joined the Red Devils in early November 2024 and had a contract until the end of the 2026/27 season, after just over four seasons playing for Sporting, where he won three championships, last season, Rui Borges ended up taking charge after the former midfielder's departure.
