A Lombardian style Villa with a very “Sintra” touch, as the gardens, so common for the area, feature gorgeous water works, stone monuments and a wide variety of plants.
It was built in just 4 years' for the businessman, Victor Carlos Sassetti, who lived in the house until 1915. After his passing, the famous Armenian Oil Magnate and Art collector, Calouste Gulbenkian, took over and sporadically used the villa until his passing in 1955.
Since then, it has seen a couple of other owners, before it was acquired by the parques of Sintra in 2011, making it available for the public and creating a truly wonderful hiking trail. Passing the Villa up to the Moorish Castle and Pena Palace.
Have you ever taken the wonderful walk?
