Mário Marques, a climatologist, told SIC Notícias that “this week will be characterised by the successive passage of depressions with cold fronts.”

The effects of the storm will begin to be felt from 22 January, as it passes under the nickname Ingrid.

According to SIC Notícias, risk factors include rough seas with waves up to 10 metres high; wind gusts of up to 90 km/h; heavy rain; and snowfall in locations above 700 metres in altitude.
