Lisbon’s Humberto Delgado Airport alone handled 36.1 million passengers, up 2.9% from 2024.
According to data released by the Vinci Group, which operates many European airports, the total number of passengers transported to and from Portuguese airports managed by ANA increased by 4.7% over the previous year.
The analysis carried out by the French group also reveals that 16.9 million passengers (+6.3%) were processed in Porto, while 10.4 million (+5.8%) passed through Faro.
Madeira’s airports showed the highest growth of 12%, receiving more than 5.6 million passengers.
On the other hand, growth in the Azores was more modest, rising 2.7% to 3.3 million passengers.
The Vinci Group notes the substantial growth in long-haul flights from Lisbon airport, mainly to Asia and Latin America, and also highlights the increase in traffic at Porto, attributed to low-cost offers and the expansion of transatlantic routes.
