On 27 January, the first electric train journey took place in the Algarve, covering the Tunes-Lagos route.

According to Algarve Marafado, the train passed through Ferragudo station at around 12:30 pm and returned to Tunes three and a half hours later.
The test is taking place at a time when the Algarve Line is being electrified, with the aim of reducing the journey time between Lagos and Vila Real de Santo António by 25 minutes.

Wondering if these new trains will be accessible to wheelchair users?

I understood that infrastructure works had already been completed some time back and that test trains had been running for some time - though maybe only at night. At least a step in the right direction. Can the PN find out from CP when the full new service - and hopefully a new timetable - will be implemented?
