Campo de Vinte e Quatro de Agosto is a square located in the parish of Bonfim, in the city of Porto, Portugal.
In the Middle Ages, it was called ‘Mijavelhas’; later, it became known as ‘Poço das Patas’ (Paw Well) due to the marshy terrain. In 1833, it was called ‘Campo da Feira do Gado’ (Cattle Market Field) and, a few years later, it became ‘Campo Grande’ (Large Field). By municipal decree of 1 August 1860, it acquired its current name in honour of the Liberal Revolution of Porto in 1820.
