North-west waves are expected to reach 5 to 6 metres, with maximum heights of up to 11 metres.

People in coastal areas should take extra care and follow safety advice.

The Portuguese Institute of the Sea and Atmosphere (IPMA) has issued several warnings for the coming days:

  • Rough Seas – Orange
    4 February, 15:00 → 7 February, 12:00
    West-facing waves of 5 to 6 metres, with maximum heights of 12 to 13 metres.
  • Heavy Rain – Orange
    4 February, 12:39 → 5 February, 06:00
    Periods of heavy and persistent rainfall.
  • Rain – Yellow
    5 February, 06:00 → 5 February, 09:00
    Rain may still be locally heavy and persistent.
  • Wind – Yellow
    4 February, 12:39 → 4 February, 18:00
    Gusts up to 80 km/h, especially along the coast, and up to 110 km/h in mountainous areas.
  • Wind – Yellow
    5 February, 00:00 → 5 February, 18:00
    Gusts up to 90 km/h, reaching 100 km/h in the highlands.
