According to the estimate from the European Union’s statistical service, regarding the main components of inflation in the eurozone, services are expected to register the highest annual rate in January (3.2 percent, compared to 3.4 percent in December 2025), followed by food, alcohol and tobacco (2.7 percent, compared to 2.5 percent), industrial goods excluding energy (0.4 percent, compared to 0.3 percent) and energy (-4.1 percent, compared to -1.9 percent in December).
The core inflation rate (excluding more volatile components such as food and energy) was estimated at 2.2 percent in January, compared to 2.3 percent in December 2025 and 2.7 percent in the same month of the previous year.
