The Aveiro Salt Flats, Salinas de Aveiro, are a vast area of salt production located in the Aveiro Estuary, Aveiro District, in the Central Region of Portugal.
Salt mining in the Aveiro region dates back to a time before the existence of the Ria de Aveiro itself, with the first written document about Aveiro saltworks predating the founding of the nation.
